Dunn County Veterans Service Office Hosting Outreach Event for Veterans and Their Families

The Dunn County Veterans Service Office will be hosting a Veterans Outreach Event for Veterans, dependents, and community supports on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 8:30am-2:00pm. The event will be held at the Menomonie Alliance Church, 502 21st St. NE, Menomonie, WI, and will provide information about resources for local Veterans.

The featured speaker, Jeff LeCount served over 4 years active duty as an Infantryman. He earned a Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, two Army Commendations with Valor, and a Combat Infantry Badge during his two tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He then worked as a Department of Defense Contract Employee using his military experience to support the Global War on Terrorism. He retired from this line of work and his journey led him to being the Executive Director of Camp Victory near Willard, WI. Camp Victory provides a safe environment for Veterans with PTSD and their families to connect, discuss their experiences, and continue to heal from the effects of serving our country. It provides guided archery deer, turkey, and bear hunts. Camping and lodging is available for Veterans and their families.

There will be presentations on Veteran benefits, Toxic Exposure (PACT Act), and Mental Health resources. A resource fair will be available throughout the day with breakfast and lunch provided.
