Melanie McManus is a freelance writer and editor specializing in travel and fitness. Her debut memoir, Thousand Miler, describes her adventures hiking the 1,100-mile Ice Age Trail through Wisconsin’s forests, prairies, wetlands, farms, and small towns. This event is part of the Chippewa Valley Book Fest. Melanie McManus will talk about the creation and development of the Ice Age Trail, one of America’s 11 select National Scenic Trails. During her talk she weaves in personalities and nuggets from her memoir, Thousand-Miler, which takes a look at her 2013 record-setting thru-hike of the Ice Age Trail.
