Bringing the Chippewa Valley's Voice to Madison. This annual event is organized by the Chippewa Valley Chamber Alliance, representing the Chippewa Falls, Menomonie and Eau Claire Chambers of Commerce.
Why it's important: As a new Democratic Governor takes office but with Republicans still controlling the legislature, 2019 will be a pivotal year with divided government determining policies impacting the future of our state's economy. As biennial budget deliberations begin, the Rally is a uniuqe opportunity to bring the collective voice of Chippewa Valley business and community leaders like you to Madison all at one time. With workforce issues at the top of the agenda, we'll be there to emphasize the impact on our region of initiatives being undertaken or considered by state government. We'll also be there to thank lawmakers for positive outcomes from previous trips, like successful downtown economic development projects and increased state investment in K-12 and higher education, as well as to remind them of unfinished business related to rural broadband access and long-term infrastructure funding. Click here for details on the issues being presented this year.
How it works: You'll be part of a team of several dozen area business and community leaders traveling to Madison for small group meetings at legislative offices, a luncheon address by the Governor (invited), informal discussions with lawmakers and staff at the closing reception, and networking with others from the area who are interested in state government policy. Sessions in Madison at the Capitol and Park Inn begin with a briefing at 10:00 a.m., and conclude at 6:00 p.m.
Optional round trip same-day bus transportation is available from Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire or Menomonie (choose that option when you register). Tentative bus departure times are Chippewa Falls 6:00 a.m. (Walmart, 2786 Commercial Blvd, meet at Lawn & Garden entrance), Eau Claire 6:15 a.m. (CVTC Health Ed Ctr, 617 W. Clairemont Ave.) and Menomonie 5:45 a.m. (Burger King, 544 Main Street). Buses leave Madison at 6:15 p.m. and arrive back in Chippewa Valley cities in late evening.
Discounted hotel rates are available to those traveling on their own and staying overnight. Call the Park Hotel at 608-285-8000 and ask for the Chippewa Valley Rally 2019 Room Block. Contact Scott Rogers at the Eau Claire Chamber if you have questions. We're past the cut off date for guaranteed availability, but rooms may still be available.
Cancellation policy: If you find later you can't attend, cancel at least 7 days before to receive a full refund.
